The Band
J.D. Smith is a Montana based singer/songwriter who blends Indie-style rock with Americana folk music.
J.D.'s songs explore the joys and pains of rural life, broken dreams, and the thirst for adventure -
his signature songwriting is best described as "roots outlaw with a country voice."
The 3 Legged Dog is a 3 to 5-piece band that leans on the organic sounds of acoustic instrumentation
mixed with driving electric guitar and a bottom end that will make you dance.
The band delivers a high-energy show with 80% original music, and surprises crowds with cover songs
ranging from Johnny Cash to Jane's Addiction.
With a new self-titled cd, the band is bringing their
show to festivals and venues across the Northwest.
The music of the 3LD began almost a decade ago when singer/songwritter J.D. Smith began writting songs in the then blossoming Boulder, CO music scene. Following his hunger for adventure, J.D. roamed the Northwest with his guitar, eventually settling on a small homestead in Montana. In the early spring of 2001 the members of the band came together in this most unlikely of meeting places, deep in the mountains. Musicians from across the country fused their talents, stylings, and taste for adventure, musical and otherwise.
