J.D. Smith and the 3 Legged Dog J.D. Smith is a Montana based singer/songwriter who blends Indie-style rock with Americana folk music. J.D.'s songs explore the joys and pains of rural life, broken dreams, and the thirst for adventure - his signature songwriting is best described as "roots outlaw with a country voice."

Current News The band is currently taking the months of May and June off due to a couple new babies in the 3 Legged Dog family. Congratulations in advance to Matt and Kathleen Braverman (bass)and Hays and Kelly Daniel (lead guitar). The band will be back in full force in the month of July, hitting some of their favorite watering holes and festivals around the Northwest. J.D. will be playing some solo performances (Sean Kelly's, May 30th)as well as some acoustic duos in late June with mandolin virtuoso Lincoln Crockett. Enjoy the summer, hope to see you at a show!
